ROCKETON is a venture-funded startup that is developing a new type of massively multiplayer entertainment experience.

We are located in foggy South San Francisco. We're always looking for creative minds to join the ROCKETON community and our team. If you have ideas and want to contribute, that would be great. We believe in group collaboration and are looking for new ways to harness the creative energy of artists, programmers and designers all over the world.

Management Team

Captain Hoff is the CEO of ROCKETON. He is also a founding member of the Academy of Television's Interactive Media Group and Vice Chairman of the San Francisco Chapter of the Producers Guild of America. Prior to starting ROCKETON, he was the COO of Zannel, the first large-scale mobile instant media messaging platform. Before that, he was the North American Studio Head for Infospace, where he ran the U.S. mobile games publishing & development group. From 1998 - 2002, he was the Chairman & CEO of Spiderdance, Hollywood's leading interactive television studio, whose customers included NBC, Viacom, Time Warner, TBS, GSN and A&E. He also consulted for R/GA Interactive, designing projects for Kodak, Disney, Intel, AdAge, and Children's Television Workshop. From 1994 - 1998, he ran LavaMind, a developer & publisher of computer games and entertainment websites. While in Japan, he worked for Sega, generating new concepts for games and amusement rides. Prior to Sega, he was a Hollywood development executive at Fries Entertainment, where he managed TV development. He graduated from the University of California with a BS in Electrical Computer Engineering and went on to earn a Masters in Film & Television from USC. He is also the co-author of "Game Design Workshop" published by CMP in 2004.

Big Kahuna is the VP of Business Development & Marketing at ROCKETON. He was formerly General Manager and Executive Producer at Vivendi Universal Games, where he headed two game studios: Impressions Games, known for cutting edge historical RTS games and sims; and Papyrus Racing Games Studio known for top-of-class Racing Simulations. At Vivendi Univeral Games, he oversaw key franchises, including Leisure Suit Larry, Empire Earth, Nascar Racing, Lords of the Realms III, Caesar, SWAT, and others. Before Vivendi, he was Executive Producer at Atari / Infogrames / Hasbro Interactive, where he pioneered the casual games genre with Hasbro's "crown-jewel" properties including Monopoly, Scrabble and The Game of Life. Most recently, he was the Head of North American Publishing at Infospace, where he ran the largest mobile multiplayer tournament games network in the United States. Before Infospace, he was the Director of Product Development and Technology at Kayak Interactive, where he created Slingo2Go, a pioneering real-time mobile-to-web MMO, while managing internal and external development. Prior to Kayak, he was VP of Product Development at Chasma Interactive, where he transformed their mobile MMO technology platform and business model from a platform play into a publishing play. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Producer at Virgin Interactive; he was also Studio Manager and Head of Technology at BAP Interactive.

Gnome is the COO of ROCKETON. She was formerly a Development Director at Electronic Arts, where she managed the development process for multimillion dollar video game titles. From 1998 - 2002, she was COO and acting CFO of Spiderdance, Hollywood's leading interactive television studio, whose customers included NBC, Viacom, Time Warner, TBS, GSN and A&E. At two points in her career, she was the President of LavaMind, a developer & publisher of computer games and entertainment websites. She also worked at Morgan Stanley's Tokyo Branch as a Financial Analyst. In addition, she has worked in the film business, coordinating an international film co-production for NHK of Japan and Grundy Company of Australia. She is a graduate of ICU in Tokyo, Japan. She also has a passion for manga and anime, and has translated dozens of Japanese comic books and animations.

Snowdog is the Chief System Architect at ROCKETON. Previously, he founded e4 Networks, an Internet based real time collaboration and communication system. Before that, he was the Chief Technical Officer, VP of Network Operations for Multitude, where he designed and implemented the Firetalk server and client, a fully scalable, secure and redundant Internet communication system (voice & data) with 24x7 uptime, hot replaceable servers, and ActiveX client that encapsulates full functionality. He also designed and implemented the graphics engine for Fireteam, a multiplayer real time network game. Prior to that, he was Director of System Software at the 3DO Company, where he built and directed a software department of 24 to implement the graphics libraries, tools and operating system for the M2 development system. He also presented the software strategy to the 3DO developer community, and acted as overall software strategist for the M2 platform. He also worked at Silicon Graphics, SHOGraphics and Atari as a director and/or engineer. At Atari he was the project leader and principle programmer on "Last Starfighter" arcade game. He also designed and implemented "SHOlib" a 3D graphics library for the "SHOview" graphics hardware system, as well as managed the programming effort for a high performance 3D workstation. He attended Queen Mary College, London University, as a Research Student PhD Program, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics.

Scar Face is the Lead Engineer at ROCKETON. Over the past 10 years, he has worked on numerous console and mobile games. He was Project Lead at Pipeworks, where he developed Prince of Persia: Revelations (Sony PSP), and Godzilla: Save the Earth (Sony PS2, Microsoft XBox). Before that he was Senior Software Engineer at Anabas, where he was responsible for architecture and development of the display sharing technology for the Anabas Web Conferencing system. The shared display he developed allowed users to view and control applications that were running on another user's machine across a network. Before that he was Lead Programmer at Multitude, where he built and managed a team of 6 developers through several releases of the Firetalk client - Multitude's Internet Voice communication application. He also developed the lobby client for FireTeam, a team oriented multiplayer action game. He was also a programmer at Dynamix, where he led the development of the 3D driving simulator portion for the Drivers Education product. He also worked on Front Page Sports Baseball Pro. He founded Future Simulations, where he developed Beyond Armageddon: U.S.H.F.
